Manufacturing new orders in 2023 are up 4.2% from 2022.

The increase was driven by the consumer goods industry (+10.8%), the capital goods industry (+9.9%) and the durable goods industry (+1.2%). However, new orders in December 2023 were down 14.6% on the previous month, and compared to December 2022, new orders were down 1%.
