The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) has announced the acquisition of 12 multi-role helicopters of the latest generation, including seven Airbus H160 and five H145, intended for SMURD missions, civil protection, and public order.
The General Inspectorate of Aviation has communicated that these aircraft will enhance air intervention capabilities and emergency situation management. The H160 helicopters will be used for both public order and civil protection interventions, while the H145 will be dedicated to SMURD missions and mountain rescue operations.
The new aircraft will allow for rapid and efficient interventions in various situations, including medical transport, search and rescue, and logistical support. The investment underscores Romania's commitment to modernizing the MAI's air fleet, contributing to increased efficiency in air missions and reducing response times in emergencies.
