The Hungarian Foreign Minister, Peter Szijjarto, announced that his country will block a 90 billion euro loan from the European Union intended for Ukraine, until the transit of oil through the Druzhba pipeline is resumed. Szijjarto accuses Ukraine of blackmail, stating that it has halted the oil transit in coordination with Brussels and the Hungarian opposition, causing supply disruptions and rising fuel prices.

The Hungarian government claims that Ukraine is blocking the Druzhba pipeline, which transports Russian oil, despite the fact that repairs have been completed. Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated that Hungary has suspended diesel deliveries to Ukraine, which will only be resumed if the pipeline is unblocked. Following the halt of the flow, Slovakia has begun to use its strategic oil reserves to maintain its supply.
