INS: Household incomes increased, on average, by 13.6% in 2025. Expenditures accounted for 85.5% of total income, an increase of 1024 lei compared to the year 2024.

According to data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS), the average total income per household in Romania reached 9,399 lei in 2025, registering an increase of 13.6% compared to the previous year. Average expenses amounted to 8,037 lei, representing 85.5% of income.


Expenditures for food and non-alcoholic beverages had a value of 1,553 lei per household, accounting for a significant share of the total average monthly consumption expenditures of households (32.1%). On the opposite end is education, with a value of only 27 lei per household (0.6% of total average monthly consumption expenditures).
