Hidroelectrica recorded a net profit of 1,587 million lei in H1 2025, down 41%, amid unfavorable hydrological conditions and increased dependence on the wholesale energy market.

In the first semester of 2025, Hidroelectrica reported a net profit of 1,587 million lei, 41% less than in the same period of the previous year. Revenues decreased by 16% and net electricity production was 6,068 GWh, down 27%. The company is facing a severe drought and an increase in power purchases from the market, which is changing its business model from exclusively hydro generation to a hybrid integration and supply model.
