Ford recorded net losses of 8.2 billion dollars in 2025, mainly due to the restructuring of the electric vehicle (EV) division, a fire at an aluminum supplier, and U.S. tariffs.
The company's revenues were 187.3 billion dollars, but in the fourth quarter, net losses reached 11.1 billion dollars, the weakest performance since 2008. The EV division had an operational loss of 1.2 billion dollars, in contrast to the profit generated by combustion engine vehicles. Ford announced asset write-downs of 19.5 billion dollars, abandoning the production of the electric F-150 Lightning truck and other EV models, focusing on hybrid and gasoline vehicles.
