On Friday, the National Bank of Romania announced an appreciation of the euro to 5.0472 lei and of the pound sterling to 5.9083 lei. The US dollar depreciated to 4.3797 lei and the Swiss franc fell to 5.3628 lei. The gram of gold was valued at 472.4081 lei, down almost 3 lei from the previous day. The IMF unit of account rose to 5.9723 lei. The list of foreign exchange rates reflects the quotations of authorized banks, without imposing any obligation to use them in transactions.
