Eugen Rădulescu, advisor to the governor of the BNR, explained on Digi24 that the decision of Fitch agency to maintain Romania's rating at 'BBB-' was influenced by additional information presented by the Government and the BNR. Although the rating was not downgraded, Rădulescu emphasizes that the economic danger is greater than ever, due to the delay in necessary reforms.

He criticized the inefficient management of the energy sector, highlighting that the freezing of prices and subsidies has led to an energy crisis. Rădulescu emphasized the importance of reforming state-owned companies to avoid a new negative assessment from Fitch. He also mentioned that Romania does not have a clear plan for reducing the budget deficit in the next year, which could lead to a deterioration of the economic situation.
