The CPBR and Concordia disagree with the proposal to introduce an additional tax on banking transactions, considering that it would have negative economic and social effects. The organizations stress that such measures, without prior dialogue with social partners, are populist and superficial. They propose sustainable alternatives for budget recovery, such as digitization and making tax collection more efficient, and warn that such a tax could lead to a migration of payments to cash, the growth of the black economy and negative impacts on vulnerable groups.
