The Concordia Employers' Confederation requests the Government to urgently eliminate the minimum tax on turnover (IMCA), which it considers a harmful fiscal measure that affects investments and the economic future of the country. Concordia emphasizes that 61% of companies with a turnover over 50 million euros are affected by IMCA, and 10% of these have incurred losses solely due to this tax. The measure blocks investments and penalizes companies that reinvest in development. The retail sector is the most severely affected, followed by production and professional services. Concordia rejects the reduction of the tax to 0.5% as an insufficient solution, arguing that it does not address the underlying problem and continues to penalize companies in difficulty. UDMR Deputy Prime Minister Tanczos Barna stated that IMCA must be eliminated, and discussions to find a solution are ongoing at the Ministry of Finance. Additionally, USR supports the elimination of this tax, highlighting its negative impact on investments and employment. Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan promised that decisions will be made by December.
