In the context of austerity measures and public spending cuts, Cernavodă City Hall has decided to allocate almost 1.7 million lei for the organization of the City Days, scheduled for August 2025. The contract was awarded to a firm from Medgidia, owned by Sorin Elvis Radu, which has only one employee and has won contracts with the town hall in the past. Liberal mayor Liviu Cristian Negoiță was recently sentenced to four years in prison for abuse of office, which adds a controversial context to the decision.
