The Bucharest Stock Exchange lost over 4.74 billion lei in market capitalization during the week of August 31–September 4, 2026, while the value of share transactions increased by 336.36 million lei compared with the previous week.
Stock market capitalization reached 713.09 billion lei, down 0.66% from the level of 717.83 billion lei recorded during August 24–28. At the same time, share transactions totaled 787.23 million lei, 74.6% above the turnover of 450.86 million lei recorded in the previous week.
The main BET index closed the week at 34,414.30 points. The most active trading session was Thursday, September 3, with transactions worth 285.63 million lei, while the least active was Friday, September 4, with 51.25 million lei.
Digi Communications NV shares were the most liquid, with transactions worth 240.19 million lei, although their price fell by 3.17%. They were followed by Banca Transilvania, with a turnover of 124.23 million lei and a decline of 1.21%, and Romgaz, with transactions worth 104.07 million lei and a decrease of 6.29%.
The largest increases were recorded by Comcm Constanța, Rompetrol Rafinare, and Electro-Alfa International, while the most significant declines were recorded by Uamt, Sinteza, and Conted.
