Apple announced on Wednesday the expansion of its partnership with Broadcom through a multi-year agreement estimated at over 30 billion dollars, the largest investment by the company in U.S. manufacturing. The agreement includes the production of over 15 billion chips in the U.S. and includes a 1.5 billion dollar investment for the expansion of Broadcom's factory in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Broadcom's shares rose by over 6% after the announcement. The new agreement extends the collaboration between the two companies in the field of custom chips, including wireless components for the connectivity of Apple devices.

Apple is working with the U.S. administration to develop a complete semiconductor manufacturing supply chain in the U.S. Tim Cook emphasized the importance of these components for the performance of Apple devices and thanked the Trump administration for its support.

This investment is part of the 600 billion dollar program announced by Apple for the development of operations in the U.S.
