Anthropic has announced that it has submitted a confidential initial public offering (IPO) prospectus to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), with the option to go public depending on market conditions.
Founded in 2021 by former OpenAI employees, Anthropic is known for its artificial intelligence models, especially Claude, which generated $47 billion in revenue this year. The company recently completed a funding round, reaching a valuation of $965 billion, surpassing OpenAI. Additionally, Anthropic has launched the Claude Mythos Preview model, featuring advanced cybersecurity capabilities, and has signed an agreement with SpaceX for the use of its data center's computing power.
Despite challenges with the Department of Defense, its popularity has grown in the private sector, and its models have been widely adopted.
The lawsuit with the Trump administration regarding the blacklist is ongoing, but a settlement is considered possible.
