The National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) has announced that institutions and public authorities with unpaid tax debts until August 31, 2025, must settle these obligations. At that time, their total debts amounted to 582,901,355 lei.

ANAF, according to the Fiscal Procedure Code, has the role of supporting taxpayers in voluntary compliance with tax payments. In November 2025, ANAF will send official notifications to inform institutions about their arrears, guide them towards compliance, and present them with options for tax facilities. Additionally, institutions can request the installment of debt payments without requiring guarantees.

ANAF emphasizes that failure to settle these debts will lead to legal measures for the recovery of amounts.
