Alexandru Nazare, a former finance minister and member of the NBR, says Romania has been facing a difficult economic period for at least 18 months because of its budget deficit and rising public debt. He stresses that discussions should focus on economic recovery, not just the deficit. Nazare criticizes previous governments for not prioritizing the economy, which led to inefficient management of resources. At the National Forum 'Future of Agriculture', he emphasized the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors to improve the country's economic situation.
