Adrian Cocan, Lăptăria cu Caimac: The economy is affected unevenly, while the dairy market is declining

The economy is being affected unevenly, and the dairy industry offers a clear example: although the results for the first half of 2026 indicate 3% growth, most companies in the sector recorded declines. Adrian Cocan, co-founder of Lăptăria cu Caimac, made the statement on Wednesday at the launch event for the Newmoney.ro–INSCOP Economic Sentiment Index.

The entrepreneur said that only four companies in the dairy industry reported growth, two of them multinationals. “The economy is being affected unevenly. We see this constantly,” Cocan said, in the context of observations also made by Daniel Dăianu, president of the Fiscal Council.

The co-founder of Lăptăria cu Caimac explained that business decisions are preceded by analyses of the market, consumers and incomes. The company operates an integrated model and is Romania’s third-largest cow farm by production and fourth-largest by number of animals.

Regarding expansion into foreign markets, Cocan mentioned the Middle East, but said that the market is currently blocked. For development, he considers cheaper financing necessary.
