The Alliance for Agriculture and Cooperation (AAC) has addressed an open letter to the president, the prime minister, and the leaders of Parliament, demanding strict measures for the control of Ukrainian cereals in transit.

The signing organizations, representing Romanian farmers and economic operators, emphasize the need to clarify the measures applied to these products, considering the negative experiences from 2022-2023. AAC requests clear procedures for verifying the origin, quantity, and destination of cereals, as well as monitoring mechanisms for transportation. Farmers warn that the increase in flows of Ukrainian cereals may affect the access of Romanian products to logistical capacities.

Additionally, AAC requests information about quality controls, prevention of contamination of shipments, and measures to ensure that Romanian products are not disadvantaged. The organization emphasizes the importance of critical infrastructure for the national economy and calls for consultations with representatives of the agricultural sector before adopting new measures.
