Three Romanians, a 22-year-old girl, her 50-year-old uncle, and her 47-year-old aunt, have been sent to trial in Italy after committing thefts in several supermarkets in the northern part of the country. The incident occurred on April 3, when the group attempted to steal products worth nearly 500 euros, justifying their action by stating that the goods were to be donated to poor people in Romania.

The first stop was at a supermarket in Antegnate, where they stole various products, including coffee, salmon, and meat. Their plan was thwarted by a security guard, who alerted the carabinieri.

The three were caught while trying to steal from another store, Eurospin, where they were forced to pay for the stolen products. Although the goods were recovered, the store suffered financial losses.

During the trial at the Bergamo Court, the defendants admitted their actions, claiming that their actions had a humanitarian purpose. The judge remained unimpressed, considering the criminal records of the uncle and aunt, and the trial was postponed to July 1.
