The Ministry of Finance has launched the program "Diaspora Invests at Home", aimed at Romanians abroad who wish to start and open a business in Romania.

With a total budget of 100 million euros, the program offers funding of up to 200,000 euros, covering up to 60% of the value of investment loans. It will run between 2026 and 2029 and is addressed to start-ups established by Romanians who have lived abroad for at least 12 months in the last 18 months.

Applicants must demonstrate relevant professional experience and maintain the investment and ownership structure for three years. The minimum personal contribution is 10%, and for entrepreneurs under 35 years old, it is reduced to 5%. The program aims to attract capital and create jobs in Romania.
