A 41-year-old Romanian man was arrested in Austria, being investigated for attempted murder following a violent attack on his partner, a 38-year-old Romanian woman. The incident occurred on July 12, at their home in Kufstein, Tyrol, where a verbal argument escalated quickly.

The man is suspected of stabbing the woman in the face with a fork, causing her serious injuries. The woman was urgently transported to the University Clinic in Innsbruck, where she is in critical but stable condition in the intensive care unit.

The police arrested the suspect immediately after the assault, and on July 14 he was transferred to preventive detention at Innsbruck Prison.
