On Friday and Saturday, public transport in Germany will be affected by a national strike organized by the Verdi union, which targets approximately 150 transport companies. This is the second strike in February, after the first led to a complete halt of services in over 100 companies.

The union hopes to mobilize 100,000 employees, and the effects are expected to be similar to those of the first strike, disrupting services in most regions. Negotiations with employer organizations have stalled, and employees are demanding improvements, including reduced working hours, longer rest periods, and bonuses for night and weekend work.

There is also discussion about an average salary increase of 10% in some federal states. Recent strikes in January also targeted other public sectors, highlighting staffing issues and decreasing purchasing power.
