A Romanian citizen sought internationally managed to obtain a driver's license in the state of New York, under the name David Beckham, where he committed a jewelry heist. He illegally entered the USA from Mexico in 2022 and is part of an organized crime network, having numerous aliases, so the police do not know his real name.

On October 23, the Romanian and his girlfriend stole a diamond bracelet worth $1,000 from a jewelry store. American authorities used facial recognition technology to identify him, and the information reached a forensic expert in the UK, who confirmed the suspect's identity.
