Germany is experiencing one of the largest public transport strikes in recent years, with disruptions starting from 3:30 AM. The Verdi union has organized a national strike affecting nearly 100,000 employees from 150 transport companies, leading to a near-total halt of bus, tram, and subway services in many regions.

This action aims to force negotiations for an average salary increase of 12% and more favorable working conditions, including reduced working hours and bonuses for night work. The impact of the strike is felt not only through daily discomfort but also through estimated economic losses between 100 and 200 million euros per day. The requested salary increases could lead to higher fares for public transport, amplifying public discontent.
