A tragic accident occurred in northern Italy, near Turin, where a 33-year-old Romanian died after the BMW he was driving collided head-on with a bus carrying 50 students. The incident happened while the driver was returning from work after a night shift.
The initial hypothesis of the police suggests that the Romanian may have fallen asleep at the wheel, which led to the car veering into oncoming traffic during a curve. Emergency crews, including a helicopter and several ambulances, responded quickly, but they could not save the driver's life. Following the collision, about 20 students were injured, but none were seriously hurt. The bus driver managed to avoid a more serious collision by swerving to the right. The Romanian lived in Mombello Torinese, and his mother and girlfriend arrived at the accident site in a state of shock.
