A 33-year-old man was arrested after threatening an employee of a gas station in Timișoara with a knife and stealing 1,200 lei.

A man with a hood threatened an employee of a gas station in Timișoara with a knife, stealing 1,200 lei from the cash register, on February 7, 2026.

The police immediately initiated criminal proceedings for aggravated robbery. After a week of investigations, the suspect, a 33-year-old man from Calafat, was identified and caught on February 15, 2026. He was detained for 24 hours and is to be presented to the magistrates for preventive measures. Investigators discovered that the man may have been involved in three other thefts from commercial companies, thus expanding the criminal proceedings for these acts as well. The investigations continue to document the entirety of the criminal activity.
