A 22-year-old man from Cluj has been placed in preventive arrest for violence and deprivation of liberty of his former girlfriend, after he assaulted her and threatened her with a knife.

A 22-year-old man from the Apahida commune has been detained and subsequently placed in preventive arrest for 30 days, being accused of violence and deprivation of liberty of his former girlfriend, who is 23 years old. The police investigation began on February 20, following a report. It appears that the young man physically assaulted the woman, stemming from some misunderstandings related to their previous relationship, and transported her against her will to his home in the Florești commune. Additionally, he threatened her with a knife, which led to the issuance of a temporary protection order against him. The man was initially detained for 24 hours and then presented to the judge, who decided on preventive arrest.
