INHGA has issued a yellow flood warning, valid until Friday morning, for ten hydrographic basins in Romania.

The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management (INHGA) issued a yellow flood warning on Thursday, valid until Friday morning, for ten hydrographic basins. The warning is in effect between August 6, 12:00 PM and August 7, 9:00 AM, due to forecasted precipitation and its propagation.

Significant runoff is expected on slopes, torrents, and streams, with rapid floods and increases in flow rates on rivers in hydrographic basins such as Vișeu, Iza, Lăpuș, Someșul Mare, Someșul Mic, Mureș, Târnava Mică and Mare. Similar phenomena are also forecasted on watercourses such as Jiu, Gilort, Motru, Olt, Argeș, Dâmbovița, Ialomița, Prahova, Trotuș, Bistrița, Moldova, Suceava, and Jijia. INHGA warns that rapid floods may occur with a higher probability on small rivers in the counties of Dâmbovița, Prahova, Suceava, and Neamț.
