Yellow flood alert in five counties until Friday

The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management (INHGA) issued a yellow flood warning on Wednesday, valid until Friday morning, for rivers in the counties of Alba, Cluj, Sibiu, Vâlcea, Argeș, and Dâmbovița.

The warning is applicable from July 16, 12:00 PM - July 17, 9:00 AM, as a result of the weather forecast and anticipated precipitation. Significant runoff is expected on slopes, torrents, and streams, rapid floods, as well as increases in flow rates and levels, with the risk of exceeding alert thresholds on rivers in the hydrographic basins of Arieș, Olt, Olteț, Argeș, and Dâmbovița.

The warning has been communicated to the competent authorities, including the Ministry of Environment and the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, to take the necessary measures.
