The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) has issued a yellow alert for atmospheric instability for 26 counties and the municipality of Bucharest, valid from Sunday, July 12, at 12:00 PM, until Monday at 2:00 AM.

Meteorologists forecast periods of atmospheric instability in the Southern Carpathians, Eastern Carpathians, Banat Mountains, southeastern Oltenia, Muntenia, and western Moldova, with more pronounced manifestations in the evening and night in Dobrogea. The phenomena will include torrential downpours, electrical discharges, wind intensifications with gusts of 50-70 km/h, squalls, and small to medium-sized hail.

Water quantities will reach 15-25 l/m² and, isolated, will exceed 30-40 l/m². The counties fully affected are Suceava, Neamț, Bacău, Vrancea, Buzău, Brăila, Tulcea, Constanța, Ialomița, Călărași, Giurgiu, Ilfov, Teleorman, Olt, Prahova, Dâmbovița, Argeș, Caraș-Severin, and Bucharest, while partially affected are Covasna, Brașov, Sibiu, Vâlcea, Gorj, Hunedoara, Alba, and Mehedinți. ANM warns that instability will expand over larger areas at the beginning of next week, especially in the eastern half of the country.
