A rural woman ended up at the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Iasi after she was attacked by a jackal, which was later confirmed to have rabies. She suffered severe wounds to her upper and lower limbs, requiring surgery and treatment with rabies vaccine and serum. Dr. Florin Rosu warned that the number of rabies outbreaks has increased in the county, with 27 confirmed this year and 900 people requiring prophylaxis. He urged the public to avoid animals with abnormal behavior and seek immediate medical help in case of bites.
