A woman from Buzău County was arrested for coordinating a prostitution ring in Switzerland.

A 43-year-old woman from Buzău County was arrested by the police following searches conducted as part of a criminal case for pimping. She is accused of having coerced 11 women, aged between 33 and 43, into practicing prostitution, promising them quick and safe earnings.

The criminal activity is said to have taken place in Switzerland, between 2019 and 2026, generating an estimated damage of over 10 million lei, money used for purchasing luxury cars and real estate. The police confiscated several documents, storage media, and five vehicles, including luxury cars, during the operation. The woman was detained for 24 hours, and subsequently, a preventive arrest warrant was issued for 30 days. The investigation benefited from international cooperation with the judicial authorities in Switzerland.
