Spoofed phone call fraud has been on the rise recently, with criminals posing as bank employees and using fake phone numbers. Victims are contacted and informed that they have been approved for a loan and the caller tries to obtain personal and bank details under the pretext of investigating a possible fraud, warns Romanian police.
