Florin Manole stated that there are only 366 war veterans left in Romania, who have paid a high price for the country. He announced on Facebook that veterans could be exempted from paying the contribution to health social insurance (CASS) as part of a solidarity package proposed by the Social Democratic Party.

The PSD has decided to support the rapid adoption of this package, which includes protective measures for pensioners with low pensions, children with disabilities, mothers with children, veterans, and people with disabilities. The president of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, emphasized that these measures must be included in the 2026 budget, having a total budgetary impact of 3.39 billion lei and targeting over 5 million beneficiaries.
