During some control actions carried out by the Vrancea Organized Crime Fighting Service, 23,300 counterfeit banknotes were discovered, including 14,700 euros and 8,600 dollars, with a total value of over 4.1 million euros. The police have opened three criminal cases for the circulation of counterfeit values. Authorities emphasize the illegality of reproducing banknotes that can be confused with authentic ones and recommend that citizens remain vigilant regarding the banknotes they receive.
