Viorel Salvador Caragea has been appointed special administrator of the UM Sadu armaments factory by the Minister of Economy, Irineu Darău. Caragea, former commander of the Gorj Police Inspectorate and a beneficiary of a special pension, had a brief affiliation with USR and was a supporter of AUR. The minister justified the appointment by citing his studies and experience in policing, engineering, and management, mentioning that there are no integrity suspicions related to Caragea.

He was previously involved in actions to arrest thieves of weapon parts from Sadu. Additionally, Caragea stated that he applied for this position based on professional criteria and emphasized that he has studies in engineering and law. His appointment has sparked controversy, considering the allegations of sexual harassment and influence peddling that led to his departure from USR.
