A 48-year-old Romanian woman, (referred to as "LD" for security reasons), has gone to court after being attacked by her 48-year-old neighbor, (referred to as "CS" for security reasons), who used a broken coffee cup as a weapon. The conflict between the two women escalated from insults and threats to extreme physical violence, leaving the victim with permanent scars on her face. LD reported how her and her daughter's lives have been profoundly affected, living in fear and needing psychological help. CS, who is under house arrest, contests the charges, claiming she was provoked by the Romanian woman. The Monza court will review the case, with the next hearing scheduled for March, when a verdict may be pronounced.
