Victor Ponta, former Prime Minister of Romania, presented an assessment of the economic situation, stating that there are risks regarding the state's ability to meet its financial obligations. According to him, several economic sectors, including IT, construction, and agriculture, are affected by the new fiscal measures and rising costs, mentioning, among other things, the increase in the price of fertilizers.

He argued that the pace of adaptation to new technologies, including artificial intelligence, is insufficient compared to international trends. Additionally, Ponta stated that mortgage interest rates could rise to 12%, which would imply higher costs for borrowers. In this context, the former prime minister referred to the level of inflation and the trade deficit, estimated at around 30 billion euros, noting that these developments could have an impact on the business environment, especially on small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as on the outlook for the country’s rating.
