Victor Ponta stated that he does not know if he is still a member of PSD, after announcing his departure from the social-democratic parliamentary group and joining the group "United for Romania". Ponta recalled that he was expelled from PSD in March 2025, after launching his candidacy for the presidential elections, but claims that he has not received any official communication regarding this decision until now. "I don't know if I am still a member of PSD. I believe I still am," said the former prime minister, who was elected as a deputy on the PSD lists and remained affiliated with the party's parliamentary group until the announcement made now.
