Ștefan Pălărie, the leader of the USR senators, announced that the legislative initiative to reduce the number of parliamentarians will pass tacitly in the Senate plenary, without debates, and will reach the Chamber of Deputies, where it risks being ignored. Pălărie emphasized that this initiative reflects the will of the people, expressed through a referendum that called for a slimmer Parliament. He criticized the political class for its superficial approach to democracy, comparing it to a game of chance, and warned that ignoring these initiatives could lead to extremism. He also mentioned the need for legislation for a centralized budget in Bucharest, proposed by Cătălin Drulă, emphasizing the importance of not allowing this initiative to meet the same fate as the reduction of the number of parliamentarians.
