At the press conference at Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base, Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, stated that Romania has demonstrated "impressive resilience" in its democracy and has successfully combated attempts at manipulation.

Ursula von der Leyen stated that Romania has maintained its ability to resist "the intimidations that are part of Moscow's games" and highlighted the support given to the Republic of Moldova. She emphasized Romania's role in European security, through the protection of air and maritime space in the Black Sea, where it is a key NATO partner on the eastern flank.
