At the end of June, the unemployment rate in Romania stood at 3.16%, a decrease of 0.03 percentage points from the previous month. The total number of unemployed amounted to 252,146, including 50,533 unemployed on benefits. Decreases were observed among both the benefit and non-benefit unemployed. The majority of the unemployed come from rural areas and the most affected are people aged 40-49. Education plays an important role, with a significant share of unemployed with no education or with primary education.
