Kelemen Hunor, the president of UDMR, stated that the Government should resume the procedure for the bill regarding judges' pensions, after the Constitutional Court of Romania declared the normative act unconstitutional on procedural grounds.

Hunor suggests that the Government should send the project back to Parliament and assume responsibility to adopt it with the same content.

He also suggests organizing a referendum to establish a uniform retirement age for all citizens, arguing that the majority of the population would support this idea.

Hunor believes that a referendum could close the issue of judges' pensions in the long term.
