The management of 'Alexandru Ioan Cuza' University in Iași has decided to eliminate, starting from January 1, 2026, the differentiated salary granted to auxiliary teaching staff, reopening an older discussion. This measure will affect hundreds of employees in administrative structures, such as secretaries, laboratory technicians, and financial administrators, who will lose between several hundred and over 1,000 lei per month. According to data from the university's salary transparency, a secretary will have their salary reduced by amounts ranging from 1,200 to 1,570 lei gross, while a financial administrator will experience an estimated loss between 900 and 1,260 lei gross.
