A 37-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman are suspected of fraud in the field of accommodation rentals on the coast.

Police officers from the 1st Police Station in Constanța conducted a home search in Bucharest, in a case of ongoing fraud, involving a 37-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman.

They are suspected of having published false advertisements for the rental of accommodation on the Black Sea coast between June and August. The Constanța County Police Inspectorate announced that the victims were misled regarding the availability of the properties.

Clients were instructed to make payments through SelfPay recharge stations, paying deposits or the full price of the stay. After confirming the payments, the suspects would cut off all communication, and the promised services were not provided, resulting in a total damage of over 33,000 lei.
