Two brothers from Maramureș have been apprehended by border police, being accused of human trafficking. They allegedly brought fleeing Ukrainians through the mountains, using enduro motorcycles, and charged about 300 euros for each transported migrant. The police conducted three searches in the locality of Poienile de sub Munte, where two off-road motorcycles, protective equipment, sums of money in euros and dollars, as well as mobile phones were confiscated. The two brothers, aged 24 and 25, are in the custody of the IPJ Maramureș, and investigations continue to document the entire criminal activity. The Territorial Inspectorate of Border Police Sighetu Marmației emphasizes the importance of combating illegal migration.
