Two minors have been apprehended in Caraș-Severin on suspicion of having placed obstacles on the railway, thus stopping a train on the Bucharest-Timișoara route.

Two minors were apprehended by the police in Caraș-Severin after they placed railway ties on the tracks, causing a railway incident on Saturday evening, when train IR 1691, traveling from Bucharest to Timișoara, hit an obstacle. The train, with approximately 30 passengers on board, was stopped for an hour, but no casualties were reported. The police opened a criminal case for destruction or false signaling and, following investigations, identified the two minors involved.

They were taken to the police station along with their legal representatives, and their detention was ordered due to the seriousness of the act. Additionally, the police took note of the failure to fulfill service obligations related to the incident. Investigations continue under the coordination of the case prosecutor. The director of AGIFER emphasized that the incident had a high potential for danger.
