The Turkish Airlines has announced the launch of flights on the Timișoara - Istanbul route, with tickets available for purchase. The President of the Timiș County Council, Alfred Simonis, stated that five flights will be operated weekly, and the flight duration will be 1 hour and 40 minutes. Istanbul International Airport will connect western Romania to 300 global destinations. Simonis emphasized the importance of this route for the economic development of the region and mentioned initiatives to promote tourism in Timișoara, including organizing cultural events. These measures aim to transform Timișoara into a reference tourist destination in Europe.
