The TUI Group, a world leader in tourism, is expanding its operations in Europe by entering the Romanian market, estimating to attract 20,000-25,000 Romanian tourists in 2023. Romanian clients will have access to over 1,500 vacation packages in 30 European and exotic destinations, including 1,000 hotels, of which 460 are part of the TUI Group.

TUI Romania, which now operates as a subsidiary, intends to open up to five own agencies by 2026, already having a network of 200 partner agencies. TUI's strategy aims for long-term growth in Eastern Europe, with Romania being considered a key market. TUI will offer vacations from four Romanian airports and will implement a hybrid distribution model, combining physical agencies with online sales. TUI Group CEO, Sebastian Ebel, highlighted Romania's potential as an attractive tourist destination for Europeans.
