In a decree signed in the Oval Office, Trump emphasized that this drug causes between 200,000 and 300,000 deaths annually, comparing it to chemical weapons. He also mentioned that the production and distribution of fentanyl, often carried out by criminal networks, poses a threat to national security. At the same time, Trump announced a possible relaxation of restrictions on marijuana, reclassifying it as a less dangerous drug. The U.S. government continues to intensify the fight against drug trafficking, focusing on Mexican cartels, which it considers responsible for the synthetic drug crisis in the country.
